The Project
This project was for Discovery Place Kid’s 10-year renovation. This project was close to Working Studio’s heart because Scott was involved with the original design-build of the exhibits when the museum first opened. We created 10 different components designed for DPKR’s Research Stations including pods for kids to learn about rockets, satellites, planets, weather variables, lightning, animal homes, and what is needed for plants to grow.
Our kayak interactive encourages guests to paddle around Hindson Lake (local to Rockingham) and explore their surroundings with an interactive map, which lights up as they paddle along the path.
In the weather area, kids can manipulate dials that affect weather variables in an attempt to make it rain on themselves. In the astronomy pod, children can send messages through satellites from space back to Earth. Guests can also use the telescope in the pod to discover our planets and learn about each one.
