The Project

The Clark Family Discovery Center opened on the second floor of the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center in December 2023. Working Studio was thrilled to be part of this all hands-on experience by creating a series of interactive exhibits for permanent exhibit. We created a child-size replica of a Blue Ribbon Bus (original to Ashland, KY) where guests can pretend play as a bus driver or passenger.

Additionally, we created a number of Earning & Spending Stations for the Bank on It! Experience including a central bank and several ATMs. Guests pick up a bank card when they enter the museum and take it station to station to play games that will allow children to earn “money” and make decision on how to spend it. The interactive experience provides a fun way to learn essential financial skills.

One of our favorite creations for this project was the Inside Alive Big Body, a dual-sided, interactive display to illustrate the digestive system and promote digestive health, all while making some pretty interesting bodily noises!
