The Project
Working Studio collaborated with M. Catton & Co. to design and develop a dynamic suite of interactive exhibits for InspireU Children’s Discovery Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. Opened on December 26, 2024, InspireU is dedicated to sparking curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning in young minds.
Our exhibits emphasize movement, engineering, and health in engaging, hands-on ways. The Scarf Launcher and Basketball Court encourage children to develop gross motor skills while discovering the joy of physical activity.
In the Gray Manufacturing Engineering Space, young visitors explore the principles of engineering through a Ball Wall, where they manipulate simple machines to navigate balls through a complex maze. A highlight of this space is a kid-sized Semi-Truck Lift, allowing children to raise and lower a truck on Gray lifts while inspecting its systems—offering an interactive introduction to mechanics and problem-solving.
Aligning with InspireU’s mission to promote health and wellness, we also designed the Heartbeat Drum—an innovative exhibit that transforms a visitor’s pulse into a rhythmic drumbeat, offering a unique sensory experience that connects science and music.
Through immersive and thoughtfully crafted exhibits, Working Studio brings learning to life, inspiring the next generation of thinkers, makers, and problem-solvers.
