The Project

Enter a vibrant park to discover that words are the building blocks of life. Gather around the talking tree to hear your words repeated back to you in silly voices as you connect spoken and heard words. Spin the emotions wheel and look in the mirror to show your own happy, excited, confused, or grumpy face as you discover the importance of labeling your feelings. Splash in a virtual pond and explore verbs as butterflies flutter and worms wriggle. The littlest learners can crawl and engage with mirrors, textured shapes, and tactile letters as every ooh and ahh becomes a stepping stone to forming words.

We were able to work with local illustrators, Lizzy Duquette, Annie Ruth, and Charley Harper (and their families) to bring the CMC’s vision to life. The museum staff were also able to use their own children’s voices to help voice the Street Library table.
