The Project

We helped Belle Isle Nature Center and the Detroit Zoo completely reimagine a new nature center that puts the focus on urban wildlife. They wanted to reinforce the connections people have and the spaces they share with the nature that surrounds us. For instance, the pollinator murals around the facility are based on actual locations within the city and wildlife you may see in those spaces.

The interactives created for the space include “Bee Vision” which allows visitors to control a bee and see through its eyes with ultraviolet light to experience a new sensory perspective. Additionally, the Young Learners Space includes a Seek & Find to engage guests with the space.
